c. 203.02
d. 204.02

Answer: 203.02

Here’s a little bit about Jenni:

What are your current job responsibilities?
I code ER and ancillary charts. I assign evaluation and management levels for the professional and facility codes and verify charges. I am also the trauma registrar.

Why did you decide to pursue a career in health information management?
I have always wanted to work in healthcare but without the patient contact, so I looked at the health information technology program and thought that it was what I wanted to do. Each day I learn something new and never get bored. Healthcare is ever-changing, and I like keeping up with the changes.

What do you like most about your job?
I have wanted to work at the hospital where I work since I was a little girl, and now I do. I feel that we have a great sense of family here, and that just feels good to work in that kind of environment.

What is your favorite area of coding?
I really like the E/M coding and the physician education. I have built great relationships and hope to continue to do so in the future.

What is your least favorite area of coding?
Gray areas.

What are some of your hobbies?
I have four children, ages 14, 11, and almost 3 (twins). I enjoy spending time with them, and when I have time I like to read a good book or catch up with old friends on Facebook.

Do you have a personal motto that you live by?
Life is precious and short; enjoy every minute of it.
