In a letter dated September 24, a handful of senators urged CMS to scale back the case mix cuts and value-based purchasing (VBP) penalties the agency put forth in the calendar year (CY) 2016 proposed payment rule for Medicare home health providers. The document constitutes the latest evidence of growing contest over the reimbursement slashes CMS has planned for the home health industry in the coming years.
