HHS announces intent to delay ICD-10 compliance date

On February 16, CMS issued a press release stating that HHS will initiate a process to postpone the date by which certain health care entities have to comply with International Classification of Diseases, 10th Edition diagnosis and procedure codes (ICD-10).

OIG alerts physicians to exercise caution when reassigning their Medicare payments

On February 8, the OIG issued an alert stating that physicians who reassign their right to bill the Medicare program and receive Medicare payments by executing the CMS-855R application may be liable for false claims submitted by entities to which they reassigned their Medicare benefits.
