HHS revises meaningful use deadline

Compliance Monitor, December 7, 2011

HHS recently announced an extension of the EHR meaningful use deadline that will allow entities to adopt EHR systems this year without having to meet the new standards until 2014 and still qualify for incentive payments.

“These policy changes are accompanied by greater outreach efforts that will provide more information to doctors and hospitals about best practices and to vendors whose products allow health care providers to meaningfully use EHRs,” HHS said in a November 30 press release.
