CMS publishes Medicare compliance newsletters for second consecutive year

Compliance Monitor, November 23, 2011

CMS has published the second volume of its Medicare Quarterly Compliance Newsletters, one year after the launching the publication’s inaugural edition. The intent is to offer guidance to help providers avoid common Medicare billing and general errors.

These newsletters are designed to help providers understand the major findings identified by Medicare administrative contractors (MAC), RACs, program safeguard contractors (PSC), zone program integrity contractors (ZPIC), and other federal agencies, , such as the OIG. They aim to help providers and suppliers understand claims submission problems and avoid certain billing errors and other improper activities.
