NY patient pleads guilty to illegally soliciting Medicare beneficiary number

A Brooklyn, NY citizen pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to receiving cash kickbacks to purportedly receive medical services which were billed to Medicare, according to a Department of Justice (DOJ) press release.
 
Yefim Drakhler, 74, admitted to receiving unnecessary treatments at Solstice Wellness Center in exchange for cash kickbacks. Drakhler received approximately $215,000 in Medicare services from 124 medical providers during a six-year span, according to the DOJ.

Drakhler faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
