Seattle men charged in identical Medicare fraud schemes

A grand jury indicted two unrelated Seattle men of running identical false claims schemes resulting in millions of fraudulent charges paid by Medicare, according to the Seattle Post Intelligencer.
 
Garnik Karapetyan, and Iacob Razumnii set up medical supply storefronts with the sole purpose of stealing Medicare beneficiaries’ identities and filing thousands of false claims to the Medicare system.
 
Karapetyan allegedly received $1.9 million from Medicare and Razumnii submitted claims for $3.2 million.
