Massachusetts hospitals sue state over inadequate reimbursements

Six Massachusetts hospitals are suing the state over claims of unfair reimbursement by policies outlined in the 2006 healthcare law according to the Associated Press (AP)
The hospitals’ grievances state that Massachusetts violated a law requiring healthcare providers adequate reimbursement for treating Medicaid and Medicare patients.
The six “disproportionate share hospitals”—meaning 63 percent of their patients are covered by public insurance—filed their lawsuit on Tuesday, December 1.
