New study links sleep duration and risk of falls
A recent study in the September 8 issue of The Archives of Internal Medicine found that women 70 years and older who get five hours of sleep or less each night have a higher risk of falls than those who sleep seven to eight hours.
 
New trial begins to test effectiveness of investigational pneumococcal vaccine
On September 23, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals announced the beginning of the Community Acquired Pneumonia Immunization Trial in Adults, a study which will evaluate the effectiveness of an investigational vaccine hoped to prevent the spread of community acquired pneumonia, according to a Wyeth press release.  
 
Tip of the week: Consequences of an incomplete clinical record
Incomplete records are an invitation to disaster. You must document completely in all areas indicated by organizational policy; nobody wants to review a clinical record in retrospect and see gaps in their documentation.
