Effective leadership training prevents lawsuits, ensures regulatory compliance
The effectiveness of your medical staff leaders and, in particular, your medical executive committee (MEC) can have an enormous effect on the way your hospital operates. However, despite the MEC’s importance in helping facilities avoid legal trouble, many hospitals do not devote enough effort to training the MEC on compliance issues.
 
Improve physician behavior using patient satisfaction data
The Joint Commission’s July-issued Sentinel Event Alert regarding disruptive physician behavior called upon hospitals to take action against physicians who exhibit signs of impairment or offensive or egregious behaviors. However, most examples of problematic behavior don’t fall within such extreme categories.
