| From Baby Boomers to Gen Xers: Promote effective multigenerational workplace communication |
| The increasing diversity of today’s healthcare work force requires an appreciation and understanding of generational differences as well as ethnic and cultural issues.
Faith Roberts, RN, CRRN, community parish nurse program coordinator at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL, stresses the importance of closing the generation gap between staff through generation sensitivity training to help nurses and management better understand differences in work ethic and approaches to communication and learning.
