| Supporting working mothers pays off |
| More companies recognize the recruitment and retention value in programs that support and encourage working mothers
Six out of 10 American mothers return to work within a year of having children, compared to less than 40% only 20 years ago, according to data from the 2000 U.S. census. The reception working mothers receive when they return to work is critical to whether they succeed professionally and remain with their employer for the long-term.
Hospitals and healthcare facilities often find that the majority of their staff are women, giving the facilities an added incentive to make it easier for working mothers to remain and succeed in the work force. In addiction, any programs offered to support working mothers will benefit a large proportion of their staff. |
