| Nursing school affiliation, staff appreciation ensure employees keep Carolinas on their minds |
| Carolinas Healthcare System (CHS), a large, not-for-profit healthcare organization serving both North and South Carolina, operates two schools of nursing, providing a steady stream of new nurses for its facilities.
Carolinas College of Health Sciences is located on the main campus of Carolinas Medical Center (CMC), the 861-bed flagship hospital of CHS that is located in Charlotte, NC. CHS also partners with the nearby Mercy School of Nursing, and students from both schools gain intimate experience with CHS through clinical practice.
But despite the ready supply of incoming nurses from the schools on its doorstep, CHS knows that to compete in today's marketplace, it must provide a challenging, professional, and rewarding environment to ensure that nurses do not leave for better experiences at other organizations. |
