| Caribbean breeze beckons for prospective students of nursing |
| Nursing schools in the United States turn away qualified applicants despite a nationwide shortage of registered nurses (RN). Almost 32,000 candidates were rejected by nursing schools for the 2004-2005 academic year despite having the necessary qualifications, according to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). The main reasons cited were a lack of admission spaces and insufficient faculty to teach the students, followed by insufficient clinical teaching space. |
