| Practices prepare for more part-time physicians |
| The number of physicians practicing part-time is increasing, presenting new challenges to practices and hospitals that are already feeling the dual pressures of physician shortages and a rising demand for medical services.
Nearly one in five physicians now practices at less than a full-time-equivalent (FTE) rate, according to the Cejka Search and AMGA 2007 Physician Retention Survey. Between 2005 and 2007, the percentage of physicians practicing part-time increased from 13% to 19%. |
