| Joint Commission proposes many changes to Goal #7 for 2009 |
| Editor's note: This is the first in a series of articles about The Joint Commission's proposed 2009 National Patient Safety Goals (NPSGs).
The Joint Commission's proposed 2009 NPSGs include significant and specific changes to Goal #7. Added were three new implementation expectations (IE), specifically regarding prevention of multiple drug-resistant organisms, with a focus on MRSA and Clostridium difficile-associated disease (CDAD), catheter-associated bloodstream infections, and surgical site infections. |
