| Surveyors' focus may bend on occupancy classification |
| Correctly classifying occupancies using the Life Safety Code® (LSC) may sound like an esoteric exercise, but there are advantages to doing so.
The Joint Commission (formerly JCAHO) and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) both evaluate healthcare facilities based upon how the LSC classifies the sites.
