Engage new nurses into your culture of excellence
Sarasota (FL) Memorial Healthcare System-a 2003 ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® (MRP) recipient-wanted to increase retention of its new staff nurses. It hoped that explaining its culture of nursing excellence during orientation would help new nurses become engaged with the environment and become committed to the same standards of excellence. To do so, the educational department created a three-day workshop focusing on the 14 Forces of Magnetism that is now part of orientation for all new nurses.
