Safety officers recognized nationwide

May 7 is Occupational Safety and Health Professional Day, an opportunity to acknowledge the ongoing efforts of occupational safety, health, and environmental professionals who make sure millions of people worldwide continue to go to and return home from work every day by promoting worker safety and protecting property and the environment.
"We take time this May 7th to say thanks to those invisible heroes, who every day work to make your workplace safer and healthier," said Michael W. Thompson, CSP, president of the American Society of Safety Engineers, which sponsors the event.
