Published May 2008
Medical Records Institute (MRI) recently announced a new TEPR (Towards the Electronic Patient Record) Award for EMRs that best meet medicolegal requirements, according to the group’s April 11 press release.
Candidates for the award must be exhibitors at the 2008 TEPR conference to be held May 19-21 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Visit www.TEPR.com for more information.
MRI described this new award as “the first major effort to challenge EMR vendors to demonstrate that their products meet a range of EMR medicolegal requirements, including identity and authentication, document version management, signature events, data integrity and document event auditing functions” in the press release.
On its Web site, Medical Records Institute, a Boston-based organization, describes its mission as promoting and enhancing the journey toward EMRs, e-health, mobile health, and related applications of information technology by serving as an international forum for sharing knowledge, experience, and solutions with the healthcare community.
