MDS 2.0 tip of the week: The initial admission assessment

The first assessment, the initial admission assessment, is a comprehensive assessment (MDS plus RAPs) that must be completed by the end of day 14 of the resident’s stay. If the resident is discharged before the end of day 14, the facility is not required to do the assessment, although any portion completed should be maintained in the clinical record.
