Joint Commission releases report on diverse patient populations

The Joint Commission has released a research report asking healthcare organizations to examine the unique cultural and language needs of their patient population.
The report, One Size Does Not Fit All: Meeting the Healthcare Needs of Diverse Populations, is the result of a research study exploring how hospitals work with diverse cultural and language needs for their patients. It is based on existing successful best practices, and includes a self-assessment tool for use in tailoring the specific facility’s aims to improve how cultural needs are met.
