China's government to reform public hospitals

The Chinese government has been debating a reformation of its public hospitals as one of the many steps in improving the healthcare program. According to Yahoo! News, Health Minister Chen Zhu stated to the Xinhua News Agency that a main focus of the overhaul will be aimed at the way hospitals make profits.The plan calls for the government to provide subsidies for public hospital infrastructure, medical equipment, academic research, physician training, and health costs for retirees. The new reformation is aimed to take place in several cities with a three-year pilot program, which will be the basis for the nationwide plan, according to Yahoo! News.
