In our second Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists (ACDIS) membership survey, we take a look at CDI specialists’ compensation, their program structure, and their relative experience, education, and geographic locations. In 2008, a total of 132 individuals completed the survey. In 2009, the number of completed responses more than doubled to 330.

In general, the 2009 salary survey results mirror those from 2008. The majority of respondents say they come from a background in nursing and that they are dedicated solely to the task of documentation improvement. Similarly, most survey participants said they are women between 40 and 60 years old with some level of college experience.We appreciate everyone who took the time to take the survey and leave such valuable, interesting comments.
