Officials from the Jersey City, NJ Department of Health shuttered the office of Dr. Sun Tzeng after finding accumulated medical waste, including contaminated syringes and a "a barrel full of plastic tubes used for vaginal tests," according to the October 19 Jersey City Journal.
Health officials said that Tzeng acknowledged that he has not paid for medical waste disposal for two years, leading them to suspect that the doctor has been illegally dumping waste in the area.
In addition to being charged with improperly storing medical waste, Tzeng will face fines for having an obstructed exit door, non-functioning smoke detectors, and no exit signs, according to the Jersey City Journal.
