Working drug-free is important to the workplace safety environment and is the focus for OSHA's support of Drug-Free Work Week, October 14-20.

In Steps to a Drug-Free Workplace, OSHA encourages employers to develop drug-free workplace programs that include:

  • a written drug-free workplace policy
  • supervisor training
  • employee education
  • an employee assistance program
  • drug testing

The Web page also has education materials, posters, and presentations in a variety of formats for supervisors and employees.
