The U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has released guidance for designated health centers about emergency planning.

HRSA encourages health centers to look into whether their states or municipalities already have emergency management plans that the centers could tie into. Health centers must also prepare for patient surges from people who may show up to these sites following a community disaster, the agency said.

AHRQ considers health centers to include community health centers, migrant health centers, programs to provide healthcare to homeless people, and public housing primary care programs.
