Reminder: Hazmat EM Workshop, Sept. 4-7
Emergency Management Alert, August 21, 2007
From our friends at EnMagine:
The Continuing Challenge Hazmat Emergency Response Workshop will host a healthcare track to put the "work" in workshop by improving:
Job-action sheets and organizational charts for internal spills and contaminated patients
Incident-action plans and site-safety plans for hospital hazmat incidents
PPE donning/doffing and response equipment set-up procedures
Organizers are seeking new material, specifically that addressing best practices and documentation for the abovementioned processes and activities. Products may be sent to Judy Scott, RN at judy@jascottrn.com. She will collect, collate, and send the documents out to the workshop participants so they can draft pre-existing material. The findings of the workshop will be widely and freely distributed.
Says organizer Paul Penn, "The Continuing Challenge is the largest conference in the nation dedicated to ensuring a safe and effective response to hazardous materials emergencies." Held in Sacramento September 4-7, it is known, Penn says, for its "edutainment" and cutting-edge training.
There is still some room in these workshops if you are interested in attending. Go to www.hazmat.org to sign up for sessions H001, H002, and H003.
