Communication is critical

Emergency Management Alert, July 30, 2007

When an emergency strikes healthcare organizations must immediately mobilize personnel, treat patients, and communicate with the public. But what if all of the details regarding the emergency-be it a natural disaster, terrorism, or an infectious outbreak- aren't yet known? The key is to communicate what you do know.

If you're having trouble drafting such a communication, the CDC offers a customizable template for healthcare organizations to use in the event of an emergency.
