OSHA highlights hurricane resources

Different types of emergency situations require different approaches for emergency workers. A hurricane, for instance, can result in downed power lines, toxic mold, and flooded roadways, and may pose other less-obvious risks that emergency workers aren't prepared to handle.  

 

As a Web resource for workers during or after a hurricane, OSHA offers, "Keeping Workers Safe During Clean Up and Recovery Operations Following Hurricanes." This online resource offers emergency workers helpful tips and tools for staying safe, including the relatively new eMatrix, a risk assessment tool designed specifically for hurricanes.
