OSHA reminds employers that advertisements suggesting that workplace posters must be purchased from private companies can be misleading. Official posters, such as the new OSHA Job Safety and Health: It's the Law poster (English/Spanish), are available free. Go to the OSHA publications page to download or order those and other posters and documents.
Meanwhile the CDC reports that healthcare facilities have received notices from private companies about the need to purchase hand hygiene posters. Guidelines for Hand Hygiene in Healthcare Settings and accompanying educational posters are in the public domain and may be downloaded, copied (without alteration), and distributed free of charge from the CDC's hand hygiene Web page.
