The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has settled with a healthcare line company over alleged hazardous chemical reporting violations.

Hospital Laundry Services in Wheeling, IL, has paid a $41,242 fine to resolve a complaint from May that it failed to submit chemical inventory forms for certain substances to state and local authorities, according to the EPA. The company provides linen services to more than 40 hospitals in the Chicago area.

The EPA wants local authorities to receive notification from sites about hazardous chemical storage, particularly to better prepare for a fire or other emergency involving the chemicals.
