Orlando (FL) Regional South Seminole Hospital most of its power late Saturday night, possibly caused by a short in transformer equipment, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

However, things got worse because the main emergency generator's fan failed, which forced authorities to evacuate several patients to other hospitals. Orlando Regional was investigating what went wrong with the generator.

In one case, firefighters had to remove a patient through a second-floor window using a fire truck equipped with an aerial tower, the Sentinel reported. The hospital and utility company restored full power about 90 minutes later.
