In a change that HCPro was the first to make public to safety professionals last week, The Joint Commission has extended its deadline for when hospitals need to migrate their spreadsheet-based plans for improvement (PFI) into the electronic Statement of Conditions (SOC).

Facilities now have until September 1 to make the PFI transition; the prior deadline was July 1. The added time will allow The Joint Commission to test and release an import program to help facilities transfer their spreadsheet PFIs into the e-SOC.
