EC.1.10 citations landed in the top 10 list of most problematic standards in 2006, according to the February issue of The Joint Commission Perspectives.
During that year, 18% of hospitals received citations for EC.1.10, putting it in eighth place on the list. EC.1.10 mandates that facilities manage safety risks, including through risk assessments that surveyors tend to view broadly.
A discussion about how EC.1.10 can branch into many areas of safety will be among the sessions during our inaugural Hospital Safety Symposium in Las Vegas May 3-4. We'd love to see you at this exciting new event, which is presented by Briefings on Hospital Safety.
