A few days left to comment on nursing home sprinklers

December 26 is the last day to offer your thoughts on a proposed regulation that would require existing nursing homes to install sprinklers if they don't already have the equipment in place.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services plans to issue a final rule that outlines a phase-in period for the retrofitting, based on comments it receives.

Newly-constructed nursing homes must automatically include sprinklers in their building designs.
