Nursing aides high on injury list

Healthcare occupations continue to experience a high rate of injures, according to Nonfatal Occupational Injuries and Illnesses Requiring Days Away from Work in 2005.

The November 17 report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics places nursing aides, orderlies, and attendants third in private industry occupations that required recuperation away from work. The median number of days away from work was five days.

Freight movers and tractor trailer drivers ranked first and second in the report.
