Perioperative Nurse Week, November 12-18, recognizes the contribution of the profession in enriching the safety culture of healthcare facilities.
"We're There for Safe Care," the theme of the celebration, is a reminder that "safety is one of the key elements of our daily practice," says Paula R. Graling, president the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses.
In addition to patient safety information, the association has a workplace safety Web page that address the biological, ergonomic, chemical, and physical hazards that perioperative nurses encounter.
