OSHA, the JCAHO, and education affiliate Joint Commission Resources, Inc., have renewed their two-year-old alliance.

The agreement allows all sides to further educate hospitals, surveyors, and inspectors about OSHA standards and related JCAHO requirements. Topics included in the alliance include biological and airborne hazards, emergency preparedness, ergonomics, and workplace violence.

"Improvements in workplace safety protect clinical care-givers and ultimately benefit those for whom they provide care," JCAHO president Dennis O'Leary said in a statement.
