The Immunization Action Coalition (IAC) updated "Hepatitis B and the Healthcare Worker," a three-page professional-education piece that answers an array hepatitis B (HBV) vaccination and occupational exposure questions.
Topics include what to accept for proof of vaccination, how to handle missed doses of the three-step vaccination series, the requirements for serologic testing, and how long the HBV vaccination confers immunity.
The IAC document also has a table specifying recommendations for postexposure prophylaxis to HBV in an occupational setting.
