OSHA is accepting comments on incorporating the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) into the hazards communications standard (1910.1200), according to the September 12 Federal Register.

Adoption of the GHS would provide for standard "classification of chemicals for their health, physical, and environmental effects, as well as for labels on containers and material safety data sheets," says OSHA.

The agency has provided a guidance document on GHS requirements. Submit electronic comments no later than November 13 to http://ecomments.osha.gov.
