OSHA wants to incorporate the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) into its hazards communications standard.
Adoption of the GHS would provide for standard "classification of chemicals for their health, physical, and environmental effects, as well as for labels on containers and material safety data sheets," says OSHA.
To read the full proposal and submit comments, click here. Comments are due by November 13. OSHA has also provided a guidance document on GHS requirements.
