Leaders from the ambulatory surgery center (ASC) industry and associations chose to focus on healthcare quality and safety with their new leadership group, ASC Quality Collaboration.
The group plans to identify specific quality improvement measures and hopes to create a set of standards that can be used in all outpatient surgery settings.
The set of standards will cover a range of topics, including:
- pay-for-performance
- responses to state data collection initiatives
- collaboration with payors and other providers of consumer information
- benchmarking information to continue the improvement of quality and safety
