A hospital tower caught on fire last week as workers readied it for demolition.

Contractors were cutting apart a nut and bolt at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IL, when sparks or heat apparently came too close to the wooden roof, a fire official told The Star Press.

Hospital employees extinguished the flames by using a cabinet hose. The hospital is replacing the tower in question with a new five-story building.
