Before an anesthesia provider performs a service at your facility, you will need to negotiate a contract with this individual or group. Stipulate in the contract that the anesthesia provider will, as part of his or her commitment to quality of care, participate in the identification process (i.e., identify the patient and correct site of surgery).
If your anesthesia proivders object to your requesting their involvement in the process, you must decide whether you still want to hire them or explore other options.
