At least three hospital systems in Cleveland have eased their policies about cell phone use in their buildings, according to the Plain Dealer:
- University Hospitals Health System dropped its restrictions on cell phone use
- MetroHealth Medical Center relaxed its rules, though still prohibits cell phones on patient floors
- The Cleveland Clinic also lightened up on its policies, while continuing bans in critical care areas
ECRI, a nonprofit healthcare research group in Plymouth Meeting, PA, told the Plain Dealer that the trend these days in hospitals is for less cell phone restrictions than in past years.
