Two healthcare quality organizations, the Ambulatory Care Quality Alliance (AQA) and the Hospital Quality Alliance (HQA), have formed a new national Quality Alliance Steering Committee to promote quality measurement and transparency in all healthcare settings, according to an Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) press release.

The steering committee will work closely with AHRQ and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to expand existing AQA and HQA programs designed to measure and report on the quality of healthcare and physician performance.

The committee will also explore developing new pilots for reporting cost-of-care measures and will consider how best to adopt AQA and HQA initiatives.
