A pandemic flu drill held last week in Fort Wayne, IN, turned up an interesting point:
Participants needed more fax machines, copiers, and medications than originally anticipated, a county health official told the Fort Wayne News Sentinel. This discovery provide a point to consider during your own pandemic planning.
A bright spot during the drill was the use of bar-coded patient record sheets, which clinicians completed when treating mock victims during the exercise.
Also, Fort Wayne Community Schools donated all the meals for the exercise, which it has also agreed to do during a real pandemic, the News Sentinel reported.
