Mumps outbreak exceeds 2,500 cases

At least 11 states are in the midst of a mumps outbreak that should inspire your safety and emergency planning committees to consider this scenario in terms of infectious disease planning.
 
As of May 2, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had received reports of 2,597 mumps cases from those states.
