The latest issue of Human Factors: The Journal of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society contains nine articles describing devices, systems, and processes that are improving healthcare safety, according to a Human Factors and Ergonomics Safety (HFES) press release.

Some of the articles include

  • tips for surgeons to improve field of view and depth perception when performing minimally invasive surgery
  • suggestions for increasing attention to high-risk drug names
  • tips for improving graphical displays to help anesthesiologists identify problems when sudden changes occur in patients under anesthesia
